Pianist Jon Mayer celebrated his return visit to New York by recording this splendid CD in the company of bassist Rufus Reid & drummer Victor Lewis. Originally from N.Y., where he was active in the 1950s playing & recording with such greats as John Coltrane & Jackie McClean, Mayer has been living in L.A. for a number of years. This is his fourth CD since 1995, and his first for Reservoir Music. From the opening Mayer original "Round Up the Usual Suspects" to the closing "I Should Care," these three masters truly communicate & interact with each other to create spirited performances.
